Hello! I wanted to take a minute to welcome you to FabFrenchFinds! I created this website/blog out of love for France, and the French language, culture and lifestyle. It's "joie de vivre" attitude has captured my heart. It encompasses their food (bien sur!), their music, their art, their films...their lifestyle in general. The cherry on the top? The beauty of France's rural areas and cities (Lyon is one of my favorite places on earth, as you will see!)
I want to share my experiences and help others feel a bit of this "joie de vivre" through the articles, photos and reels in this blog.
But this blog is more than just a travelogue. I found that many Francophiles, like me, yearned to surround themselves with a bit of France when they were back home in the U.S.
Maybe it's as simple as having a croissant with coffee in the morning, or enjoying pancakes on Chandeleur (pancake day). Maybe it's the delight of learning there's a French bistro nearby, or attending a Bastille Day celebration in a neighboring town. Or maybe it's discovering -- like I did -- that a nearby museum has exhibits that make me feel like I'm in the French countryside during WWI.
So the second purpose of this blog is to find and share the touch-of-France treasures we can experience here in the U.S. This includes French products I can purchase here (like the lavender soap in my bathroom), in addition to the French-themed restaurants, stores, museums, exhibits and events.
I am truly excited to share this journey -- both in France and in the U.S. -- with you!
I want to hear from you! In the future, I hope to turn this into a bit of a Francophile club, perhaps highlighting events, activities and businesses that our readers have found and want to share.
With my warmest regards,
Cheryl Schroeder
